Paperless Manufacturing Floor
We're on our way to a paperless shop floor. Currently, work instructions and CAD drawings are available for permission granted access at individual mobile work stations. Aside from improved document control, paperless helps to accommodate changes quickly, improves confidentiality, and is environmentally friendly.
ERP/MRP System
Our business systems have been extensively modified and automated to allow us to efficiently collect, view, organize and report data critical to the successful execution of contract manufacturing projects. We employ an MRP module for programs with long supply chains and/or considerable inventory requirements.
Lean Methodology
Throughout our organization, and specifically on the manufacturing floor, "lean" manufacturing practices are employed to create value by reducing waste. Currently 6S techniques are being applied to the business: Sort, Straighten, Sweep, Standardize, Sustain, Safety.
Quality System
The Keller Corporate Quality System is an internally-developed, highly refined, and comprehensive set of documents detailing the procedures, methodology, and associated forms used to run our contract manufacturing programs.
Digital Display
Located strategically throughout the facility are message boards used to provide relevant production information and metrics, as well as conveniently communicate important company-wide information.
Vertical Lift Module
A key component of our highly robust parts tracking system is the shuttle Vertical Lift Module (VLM). Upon receipt at the Keller facility, components are bar coded and stored in the VLM. When required for assembly, the VLM automatically locates and retrieves the stored item, and delivers it to an ergonomic workstation.
Safety
Our employee safety program reaches back over 50 years, with the formation of the Shop Safety Committee. As a result of thorough training and strict adherence to safe work practices, we have achieved these safety milestones:
